She danced in to my life
So I tried to learn her song
And if it was a good one
Maybe they would sing along
But I knew it was a quick song
It would be over before too long
She thought it sounded right
I guess I just played it wrong

But I don’t regret it
Though I knew it wouldn’t last
We were all in for the present
Forget the future and the past
She took a gamble on my time
But placed the bet too fast
All in for the present
We lost the future and it passed

She sure could make me smile
And I could sure enough make her laugh
We were lucky for a while
But our lucky times would pass
Took a risk on the moment
Cause forever was too long
It would be foolish not to know it
